The official cinema of the world seems to have run out of breath. With the recent advances in the digital diaspora and the advent of affordable HI-definition camcorder, it is only natural that the independent films in the coming years, the rich cultural heritage of our distinguished citizens, and the huge social and cultural changes will reflect the digital age. Now is the time ripe for the same audience that embraces the status quo to start to take on films that form the demandExpression that parallel the physical and spiritual world that surrounds them, films exploring the links between the real and the conceptual in the ever-coil unwinding of modern mythology. CONCEPT / MISSION The Flashpoint Film Festival is a pioneering effort based on long-term vision and mission, a catalyst and forum for the creation of a digital dynamic and internationally appealing film industry in the Caribbean. It provides an annual platform for feature films, short films,Documentary, animation feature / short films, music videos and video art created by young artists of our region. It also includes a series of workshops, seminars and panels hosted by experienced professionals from the local and international film industry. Although our focus is the presentation of the works of Caribbean filmmakers or those with Caribbean-flavored films are welcome, including international films.
